Thanksgiving is fast approaching and your Altar Guild has been busy planning the beauty we want to display this year. But, of course, we need your help as always. That help can come in the form of your donations of cash (to buy the beautiful flower needed to decorate the church. Or maybe non-perishable food needed by the Shelbourne Kitchen to help those in need to have a plentiful Thanksgiving. Or maybe sharing the plenty of greenery from your garden. Or contributing your valuable time and skills with decorating. Your choice.
Decorating the Church for Thanksgiving is moving to Oct. 9th. Because cleaning up after decorating the Church takes time, it has been decided to move decorating to Friday, Oct. 9th to ensure the church will be ready for Judith Armstrong’s Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10th.
Other Dates to remember and corrections:
Sept. 27th and Oct. 4th - A dedicated Altar Guild member will be in the Narthex following the 8 a.m and 9:30 a.m services, with an envelope to collect your donations.
until Oct 11th - Non-perishable goods can be left in the Narthex in the box provided. These will be delivered to the Shelbourne Kitchen, in time for them to be used by the “Kitchen” where they are needed.
Oct. 7th & 8th – Buckets will be available for dropping off greenery in either the Narthex or outside the side door at the front of the Church.
Oct. 9th - The big day for decorating! Many hands make light work and you can help by arranging flowers, big and small arrangements. By helping with placing the food at the Altar, hanging pew decorations and many other opportunities to help. It is a great opportunity to meet your fellow parishioners and their hidden talents.
