Alleluia! Christ is risen!
Prayers and readings for Sunday 26 April 2026 and the following week:
We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for our Verger.
This week our diocese prays for the students, staff, and families of Christ Church Cathedral School, Victoria.
In our ecclesiastical province's cycle of prayer, we pray for the Territory of the People and Bishop Clara Plamondon.
We continue to hold the community of Tumbler Ridge in our prayers. We pray for all the people of the town and in particular the families of all those who have died. We pray for all affected for by the devastating news: parents, family members, fellow students, teachers, first responders, medical teams, neighbours, those with links to the town and the province as a whole. We pray that they will know of God’s love and peace in this time. That they will know that they do not walk alone in the dark valley. That they will know the love of neighbour supporting in any way possible. That all of us deeply touched by this tragedy may know God’s hope.
This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for: The Rt. Rev. Todd Townshend, Bishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Huron; our full communion partner churches The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the US-based Episcopal Church.
In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)
Collect: O God, whose Son is the good shepherd, send us out as shepherds to seek the lost, to heal the injured and to nurture all with grace and compassion; through Jesus, who calls each by name. Amen. (A Prayer Book for Australia (1995) alt.)
