This week in prayer

Prayers and readings for Sunday 1 March 2026 and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for the prayer ministry and Sunday prayer teams

This week our diocese prays for St John the Divine, Victoria and their incumbent, Alastair Singh-McCollum.

In our ecclesiastical province's cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of Kootenay and Bishop Lynne McNaughton.

We continue to hold the community of Tumbler Ridge in our prayers.  We pray for all the people of the town and in particular the families of all those who have died. We pray for all affected for by the devastating news: parents, family members, fellow students, teachers, first responders, medical teams, neighbours, those with links to the town and the province as a whole. We pray that they will know of God’s love and peace in this time. That they will know that they do not walk alone in the dark valley. That they will know the love of neighbour supporting in any way possible. That all of us deeply touched by this tragedy may know God’s hope.  

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for the bishop, clergy, and people of the Diocese of Western Newfoundland.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Nippon Sei Ko Kai (The Anglican Church in Japan).

Collect: Holy God, whose Spirit’s breath prompts our seeking: transform the night-time of our fear into a welcoming womb for us and all the world; through Jesus Christ, in whom we are born anew.  Amen. (Prayers for an Inclusive Church (2009) alt.)
