The bishop of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia seeks a full-time incumbent for the parish of St Philip, Oak Bay (Greater Victoria area).
The Diocese of British Columbia is an equitable employer that operates with humility and gratitude to the First Peoples of Turtle Island on whose traditional lands we work and play. We are a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and one part of the whole body of Christ. We are a progressive church where seekers are welcome to receive communion, baptism, marriage and ordination on an equal basis. The parish of St Philip is one of twelve Anglican parishes in the Greater Victoria area and one of forty-six diocesan parishes extending across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands of the Salish Sea and Kingcome Inlet.
St Philip is a community centred around the eucharist and actively seeking to create a spacious place of welcome where a diverse, multi-generational congregation joyfully engages with a common vision. The community’s heart is to celebrate their children and young people in their individual expressions of faithfulness and to support the local community through heartfelt endeavours. They are looking for a leader who will lead with sensitivity to the needs of a diverse parish, will develop novel worship and community life experiences, and will hold true to the community’s deep values.
If your priestly vocation aligns with where God seems to be leading St Philip, we want to hear from you. The parish profile can be obtained from Tara Saracuse, executive assistant to the bishop. Deadline for applications is October 15, 2022.
