On the last Sunday of the Church Year, Fr. Allen gives historical context to our present moment by looking back on what was happening in the West at the institution of this feast day in 1925, and then its subsequent placement at the end of the church year in 1968. These dates, it turns out, illumine our own.
History may give us perspective but it is Christ's Reign that is the true hope of the world. How we participate in that Reign is our greatest joy and our most awesome calling.
