This week in prayer

Prayers and readings for Sunday 12 January and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for our Verger.

This week our diocese prays for the parish of Christ Church, Gabriola Island, and their incumbent, Suzanna Bates.

In the ecclesiastical provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of New Westminster and Bishop John Stephens, and for the election of a new metropolitan of BC/Yukon on the 18th.

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for Dr. Andrea Mann, Director, and the staff of Global Relations; Ryan Weston, Lead Animator, Public Witness for Social and Ecological Justice; Executive Director, Will Postma, and staff of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund/Alongside  Hope.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church of the Province of
West Africa.

Collect:  God of freedom, your beloved meets us where we are, immersed in the flow of life: by his humility and solidarity raise us from fear and guilt; may the arc of the Spirit’s flight make us a people of peace; through Jesus Christ, the Son of Righteousness Amen.
