Prayers and readings for Sunday 17 November and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for our Safe Church coordinator & all volunteers and staff involved in the Safe Church program.

This week our diocese prays for the parish of St Saviour-by the-sea, Cortes Island, and for Stephanie Wood, who ministers there from St Peter's Campbell River. 

In the ecclesiastical provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the Territory of the People and Bishop Clara Plamondon.

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for The Secretary General and staff of the Anglican Communion Office.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Anglican Church of Southern Africa and  Thabo Makgoba, Primate.

Collect:  Almighty God, you sent your Son Jesus Christ to be the light of the world. Free us from all that darkens and ensnares us, and bring us to eternal light and joy; through the power of him who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever
