Prayers and readings for Sunday 1 September 2024, Pentecost 15, and the following week:
We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for all parishioners and neighbours who walk the labyrinth at St Philip.
In our diocesan cycle of prayer this week, we pray for the parish of St Michael & All Angels, Chemainus, and their incumbent, Michael Wimmer.
In our provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the people and clergy of the Diocese of Yukon and Bishop Lesley Wheeler-Dame.
This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for the theological colleges and training programs within the Ecclesiastical Province of the Northern Lights (formerly Rupert's Land): Arthur Turner Training School, the Centre for Christian Studies, the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad, Henry Budd College for Ministry, Saint John’s College, Dr. William Winter School for Ministry, James Settee College for Ministry;
and together with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, for the Season of Creation which continues in the month ahead and a renewed commitment to a healthy relationship with the Earth.
In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Anglican Church of Mozambique & Angola.
Collect: Creating God, your name is written on every leaf, every bird, every river, every stone, every living being. We praise and worship you for the magnificence of your creation. Make us attentive to the wounds of the earth and willing to work for the healing of the whole creation, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
