Readings and prayers for Sunday 21 January 2024 and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our diocesan cycle of prayer this week, we pray for the people of Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria , and their priest-in-charge, Jeannine Friesen. In our provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the  clergy and people of the Diocese of Kootenay and Archbishop Lynne McNaughton. 

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for The Rev. Dr. Eileen Scully, Director, and the staff of Faith, Worship, and Ministry; and for The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the ecumenical work and witness of our churches.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church of South India (United).

Collect:  Saving God, the splendour of your glory dispels the darkness of earth,  for in Christ we see the nearness of your kingdom.  Now make us quick to follow him,  and eager to proclaim the good news of the gospel.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,  who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,  God for ever and ever.  Amen.  (Opening Prayers (1997) alt. )
