Readings and prayers for Sunday 7 January 2024 and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our diocesan cycle of prayer this week, we pray for the people of Christ Church, Alert Bay, and their incumbent, Sheila Cook. In our provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the  clergy and people of the Territory of the People and Clara Plamondon, Bishop Elect , who will be formally installed this month. 

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for the Primate, Linda Nicholls, Sheilagh McGlynn, Youth Ministries Animator; the Rev. Canon Dr. Scott Sharman, Animator for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Scottish Episcopal Church.

Collect:  God of the heavens,  whose holiness is unveiled by one who is submerged in all the pain and sin of the earth: give us faith to follow him who goes to the heart of darkness bearing only the Spirit of gentle, insistent peace; through Jesus Christ, the promised one.
