This week in prayer

Readings and prayers for Sunday 21 May and the following week:  

We pray for our rector, Allen Doerksen.  In our diocesan cycle of prayer, we pray for our Bishop, Anna Greenwood-Lee, and for the people of St John the Baptist, Duncan, and their clergy, Brian Evans and Trish Vollmann-Stock;  in our ecclesiastical province, we pray for the people and clergy of the  Diocese of Kootenay and Archbishop Lynne McNaughton.

In the Anglican Church of Canada cycle of prayer, we pray for The Rt. Rev. Shane Parker, Bishop, and the people and clergy of the Diocese of Ottawa.

On this Jerusalem Sunday we also pray for The Anglican Diocese of Jerusalem, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, and for peace in the Middle East.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church in the Province
of the West Indies.

Collect:

 God unheld by word or wall,  lift us from dullness and cynical contempt; make us ready for your Spirit of transforming power; and turn our hearts to the mending of the world, through Jesus Christ, the name above all names. Amen.
