Allen and Denise Doerksen are now residents of the Greater Victoria area and Vancouver Island, having moved from Abbotsford, BC.  

On March 19, his first Sunday with us, we will be presenting Allen with a welcome basket filled with local products, activities and recommendations from us about “favourites” in our area.  

You can help by: 

  1.  Bringing one of your favourite Vancouver Island made products to the church by March 17 to be put in the basket.  Cheese from Salt Spring, cider from Merridale,  special hot sauce from a local food truck….the sky’s the limit!
  2. Purchasing a gift certificate for one of your favourite local activities.  Bring it to the church by March 17.  Tickets to a hockey game, Butcharts Gardens, the Art Museum, Phoenix Theatre…whatever you enjoy, pass it on!
  3. Do you have a favourite walking trail?  Know about a great coffee shop?  Just the best barber? Fish and chips?  Please write a note to Allen with the name and address of your “Favourite “ along with your name and your note will be put on the basket.  He’ll love having your suggestions!
  4. Make a donation.  If you don’t have the time to purchase a product or gift certificate please donate to our envelope which Yvette Bird will have in the Narthex at the end of each 9:30 service on Feb. 26, March 5, March 12.
