Sharing from our neighbours at Oak Bay United:
Please join Oak Bay United Church as we celebrate Earth Day 2025 through a community art & storytelling event!
This all-ages event will feature author Robert “Lucky” Budd. Budd is a gifted oral storyteller who collaborates with renowned Indigenous artist Roy Henry Vickers to preserve and share traditional stories.
The event will begin at 2 pm (doors at 1:45 pm). Budd will tell the traditional Northwest Coast legend Orca Chief in the church sanctuary. Afterwards, all are invited to the downstairs Community Hall for hands-on art activities for all ages. Light refreshments will be available. Admission by donation: suggested minimum donation $5 per person on $10 for a family (no one will be turned away for lack of funds). All proceeds support our Justice Ministry, particularly reconciliation and climate care, and no pre-registration is necessary.
Entry to the Oak Bay United Church Sanctuary is via Granite St. For those with limited mobility, the OBUC Sanctuary can be reached by an accessibility lift, located off Granite Street, just east of the curved main entrance ramp.
