Staying Grounded in Times of Chaos
Lent is the season of 40 days leading up to Easter. This season is a time of intentional reflection when we make space in our lives for God to change our hearts in preparation for the new life that awaits us in the resurrection. In this series, voices from across our diocese have shared practices from our tradition that help us live out our faith when the world feels crazy. In this week's video, Dean Jonathan Thomas reminds us that Lent is not the season that gets us ready for Good Friday, but rather it is the season that prepares us to celebrate Easter. Where the world today induces anxiety, he encourages us to push back with intentional acts of joy and signs of resurrection hope. To watch this week's video, please click on the link below. Thank you from Street Hope
Tuesday evening was a perfect night to deliver the Easter goodies so generously provided by us, the St. Philip’s congregation. Rob Hosie was a hit in his colourful outfit which said “Happy Easter” to all he greeted. The socks filled with Easter treats were well received and appreciated by the folks on Pandora Ave. with many “God bless yous”. Street Hope volunteers and staff provide a much needed service to those less fortunate in Victoria. Without the generosity in time (sandwich making every Tuesday), gifts for the special Festivals during the Church calendar year, and the many volunteers from St. Philip’s who go out on Tuesday evenings to help distribute the “goodies” Street Hope would have a difficult time in fulfilling their mission to the people on Pandora. Street Hope says ‘THANK YOU’ for all of our support. - Kathy Fyfe For more infomation visit:
