Prayers and readings for Sunday 8 December and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for the team of readers, those who read Scripture during our services.

This week our diocese prays for the Two Saints Ministry (St David by the Sea Cordova Bay & St Peter’s Lakehill) and their incumbent Adela Torchia.

In the ecclesiastical provincial cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of New Westminster and Bishop John Stephens.

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for the Acting Primate Archbishop, Anne Germond, and the staff of the Primate’s Office of the Anglican Church of Canada.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for the Province of the Episcopal Church of Sudan.

Collect:  Lord of the wilderness way, whose word scours our smooth evasions: take us on the unbending road to the raw centre of our world with a cry of invitation and the call of sudden grace; through Jesus Christ, the one who is to come.
